Today I’m talking about how to make the perfect clay pot chicken that is both delicious and extremely easy to prepare. Clay pots are special dishes that I absolutely love because they cook the food at a lower temperature, soaking in all of the flavors while maintaining an excellent amount of moisture. This allows you to make the dish ahead of time and enjoy it throughout the week, or you can use less oil (if needed) and eat it right away. Whether you’re cooking for one person or cooking for a crowd, this recipe is perfect!
What is a clay pot?
Clay pots are dishes that are cooked at a lower temperature than ovens. They typically have a lid on top to trap in the heat, moisture, and steam. The clay pot is used to prepare different types of dishes, including soups, stews, braised dishes, boiled rice dishes, or even desserts. One of the most popular uses for clay pots is cooking an entire meal for people because it’s easy to store leftovers in them for later!
How do you prepare the dish?
– Wash the chicken thoroughly, removing all the impurities.
– Cut off the fat and discard it.
– Cut up the chicken into pieces, place them in a bowl with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and black pepper. Mix everything together.
– Coat the clay pot with olive oil or vegetable oil (you can also use butter) and heat it for two minutes.
– Add the chicken to the pot and cook for three minutes on high heat before turning it down to medium heat (medium heat is around 350 degrees Fahrenheit).
– Add one tablespoon of soy sauce to the pot and let cook for an additional 4 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
